This installation is about barbie as an Icon. It had become a fanaticism although it is a stereotype of the woman body by idealizing it with exaggeration, but also through the position of women in the society letting the women have the image of an object. Moreover it is a cult object reduced to over consumption.

 

Barbie is such a reference that is become almost like a venerated object hence the link to religion in this project. I compare barbie to the Madonna, and make therefore several Photoshop edit. The second part of the project is the installation putting barbie in a relic posture while maintaining the color code with the cliche, kitsch, barbie pink.  I also created a barbie dress with a Madonna printed dress.
